Fathmath Azleena is a visual artist based in Maldives. She is a multidisciplinary artist and creates a diverse range of works. Her art has been featured in galleries internationally including in UK, Germany, and the Maldives.
Self-taught for the most part, she works predominantly in the medium of painting, drawing, digital, and fiber art . Having completed a Diploma in Multimedia, she also works commercially as a graphic designer and illustrator. She founded an art studio, Artyfingers along with her husband and has taught classes and workshops for kids and grownups. She has also been involved in creating Murals for well-known local businesses and communities throughout her career.
An enthusiast of self-expression, she leaves to the imagination the racial beginnings of the subjects depicted in her work. Azleena’s interpretation of human consciousness find harmony between realism and surrealism, using pops of color to bring life to her work. Drawing inspiration from the beautiful races around the world, she brings together heritage and culture with ambience and soul. Her work is both artfully playful and raw – a visual representation of human nature and growth.
